Rift Valley Treasure
Nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, Lake Manyara National Park is a relatively small but incredibly diverse park. It offers a unique combination of groundwater forests, acacia woodlands, and the expansive soda lake, all of which support a remarkable variety of wildlife in a compact area.
The park is perhaps most legendary for its tree-climbing lions, a rare behavioral trait found in few other places. Visitors are also greeted by thousands of flamingos that tint the lake's edges pink, as well as curious baboon troops and herds of elephants that roam the lush forest.
